One dead....dog??? Not sure what it was, but we hit it. While driving on a very dark and
desolate road on the way to Michael's parents, we encountered a large hairy animal standing in the middle of our lane and well...it was impossible to stop and dangerous to
swerve so Michael had no choice....thump.......
All Dogs Go To Heaven, right
? Then, only a short while later, we catch a glimpse of an enormous hind end and back legs walking up out of the ditch into the trees. Michael says "a wild horse." I assure him that it was not a horse but most likely a MOOSE! (
Yay, even though it was dark, I can say that I saw a moose in Maine...well...half a moose!) With one incident and another close call, we reduced our speed and after a few more hours of night driving, DVD watching, and Zachary fussing, we finally reached
Grandmommy and Granddaddy Jones' house! The next day, we had lunch at
Govenor's restaurant where the boys were entertained by an electric train circling above our heads. Then we hit the grocery store and
Wal-Mart before heading back to their house for a night of relaxation.
When we awoke the next morning, it was snowing! (You'll recall only 5 days prior we left Virginia in 80 degree weather.) Before it started to melt, we dressed the boys and headed out to the deck for a windy and very cold 15 minutes of 'fun'.

Of course, the best part is eating the snow! My youngest son won't eat food, but he loved to eat the snow.

Snowball fight!

Zachary even got Daddy with a snowball.

Time for a bowl of fresh snow. They both had spoons at first, but
Mikie found it more fun to eat with his face. And since Zachary wants to do everything just like his big brother......
Well, except for the moose massacre, sounds like you had fun! Snow seems really far off around here, we're still having pretty decent weather!
ReplyDeleteWe're having the same weather here. The first of the week mid 70's beautiful and today 32 and snowing (our snow did not stick; no snow eating for Boagie, just flakes landing in my mouth on the way to work.) The boys made me cold eating their snow...where was the flavored koolaid for it??? Loved the pics especially the snow ball ones. Who's idea (bet it wasn't Daddy)
