"Stage Fright On a Summer Night Field" trip #25

On this two part field trip, one must ask oneself: Did art thou enjoy the American Shakespeare Center Blackfriars Playhouse?

After reading the Magic Tree House Book "Stage Fright On A Summer's Night" about Shakespeare's Midsummers Night's Dream, we took a field trip to Staunton, VA to the Blackfriars Playhouse. Mikie held the actor's scroll. Which we learned is where the term "playing a role" came from.He also got to hold a wooden peg which is the equivalent to our modern day nails.

A few months later we attended the Maryland Renaissance Festival as part II of our Shakespeare field trip.
"All the world's a stage" - Shakespeare In the story, Jack & Annie perform at the Globe Theater. This is a representation and recreation of the Globe Theater. We stayed for the performance of "Fight School" which Mikie thought was pretty funny.

  1. I like the picture of Mikie holding the scroll. He does need some practice acting; maybe if there were monster trucks he would have been a little bit more enthused :)

I noticed the theater seats. Guess that keeps the audience from falling asleep during the performance.
